Is there a fee to use U-Split?
Nope! U-Split is entirely free to use.
What if I cannot capture the entire receipt in one photo?
That is totally fine. Take a picture of what you can and after the upload navigate back to the home screen and upload another photo of the rest of the receipt. You can continue to use this process for as many times as you need.
Can I use U-Split without internet access?
Not yet, the uploading of the image of the receipt requires internet but after that you do not need internet to manage the splitting of the bill.
Is it possible that AI does not properly detect the items in the receipt?
Yes AI is not perfect and is always evolving. If you notice a difference you can manually add and delete individual items from the list of the split screen.
Can U-Split be used with large groups?
Yes, U-Split is designed to handle bill splitting for large groups, making it easy to share expenses among many people. That is what it was built for.
Why doesn't U-Split split tax proportionally like tip?
U-Split chose to not split tax due to the complexity of tax as sometimes there are different tax rates for different things such as alcohol vs food as well as different rates based on the location. We pull the tax line item from the receipt and let you split it evenly.
How does U-Split work?
U-Split allows users to split bills by scanning a receipt, adding friends, and simply tapping the expenses to each person involved.
Can U-Split integrate with other payment apps such as Venmo for direct transfers?
No, unfortunately Venmo no longer has a public API. The day it does again the app will have an integration for it.
